Two of the most popular wireless router brand names today D-Link and Netgear share the same login IP address – 192.168.0.1.
As you may already know, all wireless routers come preconfigured with a default IP address, username and password which enables the user to access the router settings and modify them according to its needs. Because of that, it is always better to change at least the default password in order to increase the overall security of your home network.
Although the D-Link and Netgear login IP is the same, the login credentials are not, so if you want to access the router settings you will have to know the following details.
D-Link router login
D-Link login IP: 192.168.0.1
Password: (leave this field blank)
(in case the IP listed above doesn’t open the login window, check your router default IP using the command prompt and the IPCONFIG command)
Netgear router login
Netgear login IP: 192.168.0.1 (Besides this IP, D-Link router can be accessed using the following: 192.168.1.1 or www.routerlogin.com or www.routerlogin.net)
Password: password or 1234
Newer models have these login credentials on a label underneath the router so it’s a good idea to check it or look at the user manual.
NOTE: In case the default login credentials do not work, the password might have been changed by you or the previous owner if you have a used wireless router or you got it from your ISP. In that case a factory reset will force the router to use the default credentials listed above.
Accessing the router settings is easy, but we don’t recommend you to alter any of the settings if you don’t have experience doing that.
What other brands use this IP address as a default one?
D-Link and Netgear don’t have an exclusive right to this default IP so there are also other router manufacturers who use this IP address to help us access the router configuration page. Please take a look at the table below.

The listed router brands also use some other IP addresses as a default IP address as well, so there are chances that 192.168.0.1 is not one of them. To find your router default IP address check this article for a detailed step-by-step guide.
